Children’s Book Week, established in 1919, is not only a celebration of books, but of connection. It is a vehicle to unite kids and adults with books, authors, and illustrators in order to foster a love of reading. Sponsored by Every Child a Reader - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates and supports programs that strive to make the reading and enjoyment of children’s books an essential part of daily life and a lifelong joy by providing free resources to all educators and parents to share with children and teens.

Celebrate "Children's Book Week" at your library! Discover the power of books as Ms. Tracie reads with permission from Simon & Schuster, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore written and illustrated by William Joyce. Stretch your creativity and make a personalized bookmark using a variety of crafty supplies. "Take & Make" kits are available in the Youth Services Department. Please call 252-638-7815 to reserve your kit.

We invite everyone to celebrate Children's Book Week at home, online, and in whatever setting is appropriate for you. Check out all the great resources @ the Every Child a Reader website and check our MyCPRL's website for kids and teens.
