Friday June 4, 2021-Friday July 23, 2021 8:00AM at Havelock Library: Change Your Tale
Learn about and practice mind-body skills to build coping skills, reduce stress, and improve your daily outlook. This small group program builds weekly over the course of 8 weeks. Led by Patti O’Rourke, MA,RN. Adult program.

Wednesday June 9, 2021 10:30 AM at Havelock Library: 4H comes to the Library!
Ms Ashley Brooks from N.C. Cooperative Extension, Craven County Center will be here to bring 4H style learning to the library community. K-5 program.

Monday June 14, 2021 9 AM: Tales and Trails
Meet Dr Tom Glasgow, from N.C. Cooperative Extension, Craven County Center at the gazebo in the parking lot behind the Havelock Hampton Inn on Hwy 70. We will walk the short and level trail to Slocum Creek and learn about the plants in the creek area from a local expert. Adults or younger with supervising adult.

Wednesday June 16, 2021 10:30 AM at Havelock Library: Airplane Tails.
Get a behind the scenes look at the airplane hangar and yard on the campus of Craven Community College. Afterwards, try your hand at paper and foam airplane flying in the courtyard. K-5 program, YA (12 and up) welcome.

Monday June 21, 2021 2:00 PM at Havelock Library: Tales with Gary Dean.
Come hear Gary Dean tell stories of how he got to where he is. This US Air Force veteran, career television and radio personality, and author is sure to entertain. Adult program.

Wednesday June 23, 2021 10:30: 4H comes to the Library!

Frankie the Reading Dog and Ms Olga are here to help readers of all ages gain confidence and ability. K-5 program.

Monday June 28, 2021 2:00 PM at Havelock Library: Sail Tales
Try your hand at foam block printing on recycled sails to make a small decorative flag. Eva Glennon will be on hand to ensure excellent results! Adults or younger with supervising adult.

Wednesday, June 30, 2021 10:30 AM at Havelock Library: STEAM Day
Tour the Craven Community College STEM Lab, see your own design get cut on the laser cutter, and explore the library’s STEAM kits. K-5 program, YA (12 and up) welcome. *Designs for the laser cutter must be submitted at least one week in advance, by Wednesday June 23. Please ask for more information.

Decorate a frame for your pet photos, and submit a photo for a virtual pet parade. YA program.

Wednesday July 7, 2021 10:30 AM at Havelock Library: Animal Stereograms
Did you see a tail? Are you sure about that? Come by for a fun hour of puzzling stereogram fun and try making one to take home with you. K-5 program.

Thursday July 8, 2021 3:00 PM at Havelock Library: Balloon Animals
Come tie some squeaky balloons into recognizable animal shapes.  YA program.

Monday July 12, 2021 2 PM at Havelock Library: Cold Blooded Tails
Claire McGraedy will be here with Bearded Dragons to talk about the care and keeping of reptiles.              Adult program, other ages welcome.

Thursday July 15, 2021 3:00 PM at Havelock Library: Virtual Tales
Come check out the library’s collection of virtual reality apps. YA program.

Monday July 19, 2021 2 PM at Havelock Library: River Tales
Katy Hunt, Lower Neuse River Keeper, will be here to educate and inform us about the ecosystem of the Neuse River. Adult program, other ages welcome.

A military police K-9 team from Cherry Point will be on hand to demonstrate their impressive skills. All ages program.

Friday July 30, 2021 11AM at Havelock Library: O.W.L.S. at the Library
The Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter will be here to help us understand and appreciate local wildlife. Rescued animals that are unable to live in the wild may join us. Please bring a donation for the shelter from their wish list. All ages program.
