Applying for a Non-Resident CPRL Library Card
If you do not have a residential address in Craven or Pamlico County, you may still be eligible to apply for a non-resident library card!
Non-resident cards are valid for one year, and you may apply at any Craven-Pamlico Regional Library branch. Please bring a photo ID and proof of residency. (Proof of residency can be a physical or digital document, which can include recent utilities statements, lease agreements, car insurance cards, school report cards, etc.) Click here for a list of library branch locations.
You may choose between two non-resident card types:
- A non-refundable $10.00 fee allows the cardholder access to physical library materials housed in a Craven-Pamlico Regional Library facility (excluding Library of Things and electronic devices).
- A non-refundable $50.00 fee allows the cardholder to access CPRL digital resources in addition to physical library materials (excluding Library of Things and electronic devices). Click here to see a list of our digital resources.
Non-Resident cards are valid for one year from date of purchase. If there is a charge associated with your non-resident selection, you will receive a hold on your account, which must be paid to begin accessing materials. To pay the fee, you may login to your account through our website or pay through the CPRL Go! app.
An important part of maintaining the library collection and access to it includes retrieving overdue materials so they are available for the public to use. The library aims to do this in a manner that is both fair and effective. Fines are charged for all overdue materials as an incentive for patrons to return them on time.
If you lose your library card, notify library staff as soon as possible, or you will be responsible for any items checked out. The cost to replace your card is $3.
If you have a new phone number, email or a change of address, contact the library to update your account.
