Havelock Craven County Library Finds Temporary Home During Renovations
The Havelock Craven County Library is pleased to announce that it will temporarily relocate beginning Monday, December 8. This move is made possible thanks to the generous support of St. Timothy's Church.
Renovations at the library building are scheduled to take place from December 8, 2025, to January 31, 2026. These improvements are designed to enhance the library experience for our community. To minimize disruptions, the library staff and a portion of the collection will be moving just a few blocks away to St. Timothy's Church, located at 140 U.S. Hwy 70 W, Havelock, NC.
The library will be closed from December 8-10 for the move, but will reopen at the temporary location on December 11. While faxing services will not be available at this temporary site, patrons can continue to enjoy copying, printing, checking out materials, internet access, and various programs.
"We are dedicated to serving our community during this transition," said Mrs. Holmgren, Havelock-Craven County Branch Manager. "We are especially grateful to the St. Timothy’s congregation for making this temporary location possible. They are a small congregation with a big heart and a desire to help our community."
To maintain the integrity of our collection, a large portion will be stored in climate-controlled facilities during the renovation. Despite the move, patrons can still access new books, DVDs, audiobooks, and interlibrary loan materials from other CPRL libraries, ensuring continued availability of fresh resources, as well as internet access and printing services.
The Havelock Craven County Library serves not only the public but also Craven Community College. “We remain committed to supporting Craven Community College students with the Book/Techmobile available on Saturdays and Mondays,” stated Mrs. Holmgren. It will be located at the college's closed library facility for research and special projects, weather permitting.
The renovation project aims to refresh the library with new paint and flooring, as well as create dedicated sections to better serve our community, including a space for light refreshments.
Patrons are advised to enter the temporary location at St. Timothy’s Church through the designated entrance door identified by the library flag, which will lead directly into the fellowship hall.

Monday-Thursday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Saturday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
On Campus BONUS:
The Book/Tech Mobile will be on campus at the library's regular location on the Craven Community College - Havelock campus during the renovation period
