The Marybelle Hollowell Annex is a branch of the Craven-Pamlico Regional Library and is open to the public during advertised hours.
Craven-Pamlico Regional Library (CPRL), in collaboration with Heartworks, a 501©(3) nonprofit community service and afterschool care agency, shares the mission to serve Pamlico families by breaking down existing barriers to literacy (reading and technology) and providing health and educational support. The library is a safe, welcoming, vibrant, and accessible children’s library to be used by all.
The Marybelle Hollowell Annex has a developmentally appropriate and culturally-inclusive collection. It offers programs encouraging reading, overcoming barriers, surviving tragedies, promoting self-esteem, and personal growth for preschool through 8th grade. In addition, technology (hotspots, iPads, and Chromebooks) is circulated.
As a branch of the Craven-Pamlico Regional Library, the Marybelle Hollowell Annex will share resources and collections in Craven and Pamlico County, supporting access and lifelong learning.
The facility is named after Marybelle Hollowell, a longtime advocate for children and libraries.
The Hollowell Annex was supported by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the federal Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (LSTA 2022-2023 EZ Grant State Project Code: NC-22-4).
