ecoEXPLORE Program: Mammalogy

Let’s put our citizen science skills to work as we study mammals! This month NC Cooperative Extension’s Livestock Agent for Pamlico, Jones & Craven Counties, Kristi Welke, will visit the library to teach us about dairy cows! We look forward to meeting Kristi and Gertrude the milking demonstration cow. We will learn about the importance of udder health care and how it affects getting milk to grocery stores for you to have at home. We will also go over dairy cow nutrition and facts.
