North Carolina Reads
Description
This popular book club, sponsored by the North Carolina Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities, offers inspirational fiction and nonfiction books with a North Carolina theme. The program’s theme, Journeys through North Carolina, highlights the different ways of experiencing North Carolina: a place of freedom, local customs and foods, and a homeland for indigenous peoples. This year’s program will include a brief book discussion of each title and a presentation showing the historical background. The entire program will meet for four sessions, the 2nd Wednesday of each month, from February through May 2025. Participants will receive small prizes when attending their first session. Register at the Adult Services Reference Desk to receive a copy of the book or call: 252-638-7800. February’s title is The American Queen by Vanessa Miller. NBCCPL Conference Room.
